Everything parents, grandparents and teachers tend to ask before weaving their first tale.
Tolevine is an AI storyteller that turns a hero's name and a one-line idea into an interactive, illustrated fairy tale for children aged roughly 2 to 11. At each scene your child taps one of two choices, and the story branches from there — it's AI-assisted fiction made for family entertainment.
Choices genuinely split the path. A Short Quest grows 7 scenes that lead to 4 different endings; a Full Saga grows 15 scenes that lead to 8. Different decisions reach different scenes and different endings, so the same hero can have a very different adventure each time you read.
It's designed for children about 2 to 11. You choose a reading level and tone when you start, so the same idea can come out as a gentle picture-book romp for a toddler or a richer quest for an older reader. As with any story, we recommend a grown-up reads along.
Safety is built in. Stories are written to be wholesome and age-appropriate, your inputs are screened, and the AI has its own safety filters on top. Heroes are invented cartoon characters, and the worlds stay gentle and kind. We still suggest parents preview or read along — see our Acceptable Use policy for what's allowed.
No — never. Tolevine does not use photos at all. Your hero is an invented cartoon character drawn by the AI, not a likeness of a real child. There's nothing to upload.
Credits are one-time packs with no subscription, and they never expire. A Short Quest costs 8 credits and a Full Saga costs 14. Packs are Sprout ($24.99 / 50 credits), Grove ($79.99 / 200 credits) and Wildwood ($149.99 / 420 credits). Your balance is tracked on your account.
The taster lets guests try a free, single-fork adventure without an account so you can feel how Tolevine works. It's watermarked and shorter than a full story. When you're ready for the full branching tree and multiple endings, you can create an account and use credits.
Yes. Once you've woven a tale you love, you can keep it to re-read or print it as a little storybook — a lovely keepsake your child helped author.
No. Credits never expire. Buy a pack now, use it whenever — this week, this month, or next year.
Unused credit packs can be refunded within 14 days of purchase if untouched, and any adventure that fails to generate is automatically refunded in credits. Used credits are non-refundable because each story consumes compute the moment it's made. Full details are on our Refund Policy page.
Yes. Each story and its illustrations are generated by AI from the idea you provide. That means it's wonderfully original every time, and also that it's machine-made fiction which can occasionally produce unexpected wording — another reason a grown-up should read along.
Tolevine writes in English for now. We'd love to add more languages over time.
Absolutely. Tolevine is a delight for grandparents weaving bedtime tales from afar and for teachers creating gentle, interactive read-alouds for a class. The account belongs to the adult, and the same wholesome rules apply.
The best way to understand Tolevine is to plant an idea and watch it branch.
